Who are we…

Hopefully you will already have some idea by browsing our site, but here is a little more detail about key members of staff who will be posting here

I'm John Clements, MD of Meta One Limited.

Educated in Technical Illustration, graphic design and visual communication, I've worked in the field of typographic design, design technology and document publishing solutions for over 25 years. I started Meta One Limited around eight years ago to satisfy the growing demand for high quality publishing solutions that could be used by any business, large or small.

I believe passionately that the devil is in the detail. Companies invest huge sums of money in corporate design and branding projects, only to find that they can sometimes prove challenging to implement. At Meta One our mix of design and technological skills fills the gap between creating great design solutions and getting them to work effectively in businesses.

Andy Mackie, Senior Software Developer

Since joining Meta One shortly after the company was formed in 2002, Andy has been responsible for the technical development of the core software solutions that form a major part of Meta One’s service offering. Andy has a formal background in software engineering, with particular expertise in VB, VB.Net, VBA and web based technologies.

What we will be posting here

We decided to add a blog to our site as an outlet for sharing our experiences and knowledge in what may be considered a fairly niche area, but one that is very under utilised in business, Microsoft Office.

It's a known fact that the vast majority of users work with only a small subset of Microsoft Office's features, often going the long way around to achieve a finished result. At Meta One we're passionate about doing things in the most straightforward way to create the highest quality end product; it's what we do every day, so we'd like to share some of what we have learnt.

You will find out here how clever use of Microsoft Office can be used to transform the way that you communicate your business. Whenever possible (subject to client confidentiality) we'll share our successes and hopefully through this you will be inspired to try new things, who knows, you may even decide to ask us to help!
